SKXBEE and RS232

Postby winfai » Fri Jan 21, 2011 8:54 am

Dear all,

I have question on RS232 and SKXBEE. There are 9 pins in the RS232 such as TX, RX, ground, etc. I would like to ask, can i connect TX , RX, ground of the RS232 to the respective pin of SKXBEE ( RX, TX , ground, reset, 5V)??? I would like to ask, for 5 V pin in SKXBEE, which pin of RS232 should i connect to supply voltage???

My idea of connecting RS232 with SKXBEE

RS232 >>>SKXBEE
TX >>> RX
RX >>>TX
ground >>> ground
nil >>>RESET
???? >>> 5 V

can anyone help me comments on this???

thanks in advance

SKXBEE is UART interface. The difference RS232 and UART is only voltage level.
UART - High = 5V, Low = 0V
RS232 - High = -12V, Low = 12V
So, to interface this two, you need MAX232 chip. http://shahrulnizam.com/max232-driver/

hi,

SKXbee has onboard USB-uart chip. u can connect the usb cable to communicate with skxbee. there is no need for RS232 port.
