XBee, PIC16F628A and the USB to UART Converter (UC00A)

Postby alex_86 » Sun Jan 23, 2011 3:18 pm

Hi all,

I will be using a XBee to receive data from a transmitting XBee. I would then need to feed this data into my computer in order to process the received data. Is it possible for me to use the USB to UART Converter (UC00A) to link my PIC with my computer?? Will I be needing th max232 to convert data from the PIC before feeding it into the converter??

I also understand that linking the XBee to the PIC will need some conversions.
Please give me some advice.

Thanks in advance.

hi,
UC00A is very convenience in this case, there is no need max232, UC00A is 5V level direct connection with PIC.

for ur case, xbee communication to PIC need a uart, then UC00A with the PIC will need also uart.

wonder why dont u use SKXBEE which u can direct connect to computer for the data processing. unless u got other circuitry and function on the PIC.

Agreed with yonghui, why don directly connect the XBee to PC?

As highlighted by yonghui too, no max232 is needed for connection from UC00A to PIC as both are 5V TTL interface.
