XBee with PIC16F628A

Postby alex_86 » Sat Feb 05, 2011 8:30 pm

Hi all
I am now trying to connect my XBee to my PIC. I know that both have different voltage levels (3.3v and 5v respectively).
I read somewhere that the XBee, eventhough using 3.3V, can actually receive and use the logic 1 (5v) of the PIC without any harm to the XBee module. What I mean is that you can directly connect the TX pin of the PIC to the RX pin of the XBee. Is this true??

Please advice.
Thanks.

Take a look at these 2 websites and get some idea how to interface 5V devices to 3.3V devices:
