Hi,
I am interested to use the pin controlled sleep mode for the XBee modules involved in my final year project. It will be pin controlled via PIC microcontroller. I will be either using SM = 1 or SM = 2 and I've yet to decide which one to use as the only differences are wake up time and higher current consumption. However, I have a few questions to ask on this matter:
1. For SM = 1 or SM = 2, if I have set this parameter via XCTU on my PC before attaching it to the PIC, then when I power up the PIC which also subsequently powers up the XBee (they share the same power supply), is the XBee sleeping or awake by default? This is because I am afraid that the XBee module (end device) will be sleeping and could not associate with the coordinator module.
2. Precisely, how do I measure the current consumption to be compared with the ones stated in the XBee user manual, eg. TX, RX/Idle, and Sleep current consumption? Which pins on the XBee module do I probe using the multimeter?
Thank you and any help is sincerely appreciated!
