Serial Port>>>MAX232>>>SKXBEE

Postby winfai » Fri Mar 25, 2011 11:10 pm

Dear all,

I have open a thread recently but i didn't get the answer of it, so i open this thread to provide more update for my problem.. currently i try to send the serial port data (DB9) which baud rate at 115200 , using SKXBEE... I have two SKXBEE work as receiver and transmitter.... Max232 to convert the RS232 data to TTL, 5V to transmit via SKXBEE...

I have set all the address (there are three such as destination, etc) to zero and set the baud rate to 115200.... I have set same thing for both SKXBEE.... Following is the process flow

serial port DB9>>>RS232 signal at 115200 baud rate>> MAX232 circuit>>TTL signal>>SKXBEE

I can't get any signal transmitted, there are no light for TX and RX for both SKXBEE, no activity at all.... Can someone help to advice what has happening???? Is the baud rate too less or i need to set higher for it??? I have check many time for the MAX232 configuration and there is no problem.... My MAX232 circuit look exactly like the following image

Are you 100% sure your serial connection is working? I mean in term of software? If not, take out both SKXBee from your circuit. Connect both ends together using wires. Serial Port <-> Max232 <-> UART device. Try to minimize the system so that you can know exactly where the problem lies.

Hi,
thanks for the reply... sorry i forget to give the info, the DB9output is not from the computer but from a module which output at 115200 baud rate.... do you have any idea where go wrong... i am sure the connection of max232 is correct as diagram....

You're using a USB to UART converter?

Oh...i notice sth weird :o

Why do you want to make this connection:
PC >>> Serial Port (USB to UART converter?) >>> Max232 >>> SKXBee ?!?!

Why not:
PC >>> SKXBee ?!?!

Since SKXBee has the USB interface included, why do you want to take the longer path?
