using RF module in air duct

hi, i'm final year student. i would like to control a robot cleaner inside an air duct. if i use RF433MHz module, is the receiver able to receive the signal inside the duct? if it is unable, then is there hv others way to let the receiver receive signal in the air duct?

Don think you can use this type of low cost RF in this environment. Most of this type of robots uses wire to control

Hi,
if the thing can block RF then RF module cant be used.
else if it doesnt block, u can use all the available RF module, just the quality of the signal and the distance it can reach is different
low cost RF, Xbee RF module both can be used.
for distance, Xbee is recommended.
