Hi, lets say i wan to transmit 0xAA, and i connect directly XBee Din pin direct to TX pin of pic controller. Is it ok that i do the conection, since pic controller output '1' is 5V. Will it break the XBee's Din pin?
I supply 3V to XBee.

What the the default baud rate for the XBee series 1?

That is no problem connect PIC TX direct to XBee Din, but you have choice better to put 100 ohm between that.
Baud rate normally 9600.

Hi,

i have problems with XBee. I connect microcontroller direct to XBee, but it does not work.
i hv 2 Xbee, 1 acts as a transmitter and the another acts as 1 receiver.
for the transmitter side, Din of XBee pin is connect to TX pin of pic controller, while for receiver side, Dout pin of xbee is connect to RX pin of controller.
both XBee's RTSbar is connect direct to 3.3V. both xbee gnd and controller gnd is connected.
please advise. thanks ...

Well.. not familliar with XBee. But i think you need to set the address for each XBee.
There is some tutorial on using the Xbee.. pls refer to them.
