Can't display proper character for hyperterminal

I try to type AT using hyperterminal to test my gsm modem but it show the character that i don't know what is that. may i know which one i need to set so that it can display the character for hyperterminal

i type the 1st row is AT and i press enter it come out chinese word

Never see this, but 1 weird setting is the "VT100J" under the HyperTerminal window, beside the 9600-N-1. Normally is Auto-detect or ANSI or ANSIW 8-)

Try to change it and check whether it is fixed, not sure is that setting causing the problem.

Goto File->Properties, the Properties window will appear, click the Settings tab, You will see Emulation dropbox, choose ANSI or ANSIW, and click OK.

robosang.......i had try what u had told me just now....eventually i type AT and it did not reply me OK or anything else.
