433MHz RF (UART) Transceiver Module-1km

Postby stan001 » Sun Nov 15, 2015 7:10 pm

I've a pair of these and are working fine when tested on 1st floor glass window to ground floor .. ( 20 degree angle from top to bottom ) ...

When I deployed these module at a 45degree slope , around 80m from top to bottom ( visible from the bottom ) , the RF was not working at all..

The top module was installed at 1ft from the ground and the bottom was installed at 1ft from ground ...

The RF module was inside a big weatherproof plastic box ...

Setup speed is 9600 8N1 default setting ...

Can you advise the polarity of the spring antenna ??

Can you advise on how to get better range from it ?

Thanks

That is Antenna :) I am not familiar and not expert in it.

Most of the antenna will have direction.

There is no polarity for antenna as far as I know for this low cost application. You can try referring this tutorial by one of our intern students: http://tutorial.cytron.com.my/2015/04/17/demo-the-wireless-communication-distance-for-rfbee-both-433mhz-and-434mhz-outdoor-and-indoor/
