Any specs or picture of your soldering station? Was it using 24V dc or something else? Does it has digital temperature display?

I have a soldering station made in China. But later I found that the heat sensor inside the iron becomes intermittent so I replaced it with the spare iron. The iron has a plug with 4 wires and is quite hard to get. I also have another Weller TCP soldering iron operating on 48V DC/AC. This iron is very reliable and has lasted me many years.

What do you mean by not enough hot? Does the solder melt if you set it to Max?

I normally would not suspect the station because the circuit is quite simple. More or less like a dimmer circuit with additional control from the heat sensor of the iron. There is a comparator inside comparing the sensor with the temp control pot. The problem is most probably from the iron. BTW how long have you used the station?

Dismantling the soldering station within the warranty period will void the warranty.

And there is no user-servicable parts inside. Read the manual thoroughly.

ABSF and Brian Griffin thank you for your good information..

"What do you mean by not enough hot? Does the solder melt if you set it to Max?"-ABSF
the solder lead not melt perfectly although at max temperature..

"I just check it with a meter"-ABSF
what thing your checked? is temperature of iron, continuity ,voltage or something else..
