Autonomous mapping robot

need help..im newbie in this scene


recently I have created the Autonomous robots, but there is a problem. the problem is I do not know how to make it a mapping robot ..

what are the methods and ideas that can be used to make it become mapping robot
(The easiest method i prefer)

i have basic in LabView n Visual Basic

im using PIC16F84A
