Ultrasonic Transmitter to the PC

Postby ciawciaw » Wed Jun 30, 2010 12:50 am

Hi,
I need a device/circuit to connect my ultrasonic transmitter or receiver to my PC
so that I can use my PC to send signal to the transmitter to start transmitting
any idea?

Thanks

Using Ultrasonic transducer? Normal ultrasonic is transmitting signal (On & Off) at 40KHz and you will some circuit to boost up the signal. Also need to do filtering at the receiver side. Anyway about PC to control the ultrasonic transmitter.... I think need to use some kind of DAQ card.

yup, I have no problem on the transmitter and receiver side, just need to find out how to command them from my PC
DAQ board? what is that?
do u have any circuit that can do these function?

A bit confuse about your question, you say you have no problem at the transmitter and receiver, yet you are asking about the circuit. .
I don think there is straight forward circuit to drive ultrasonic transducer from computer. Most of the sample circuit require microcontroller to do the work.

DAQ is Data Acquisition Card, is a card where you can connect to computer through some interface (USB, PCI, PCMCIA, SIA, Parallel etc) and write software to control or monitor it,

Searching for google show some result of ultrasonic sensor circuit:

haha sorry for the confusing question
I'm building ultrasonic transmitter and receiver, they both are working (when u supply power)
but now I need to my PC to "ask" transmitter to start transmitting
N I just done a few research showing that I need to build a transmitter/receiver with micro-controller so that they can communicate with PC T_T

thanks for the schematic :)

Maybe you can show your schematic here so that members here can tell you how to connect to PIC. ;)

I don't know how to upload picture in this forum >.<
u can use this link

http://english.cxem.net/home/home44.php

I get these schematics from another website haha, I'm using it coz I'm planning to get the ultrasonic at the freq of 40KHz
just later I realize that these transmitter and receiver don't have any microcontroller on them so I cant connect them to the PC
any suggestion?

thanks before :)

Looking at the schematic of ultrasonic transmitter u show, the easiest way is to connect a relay to replace the switch and control the relay with a microcontroller.

I just created a new post here:
http://forum.cytron.com.my/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=10488&p=12113#p12113

It shows the way to attach pictures to your post. Have a look.

yup, a microcontroller, but I don't have the circuit for the microcontroller

thanks for the tutorial :)
but how to post a picture when u reply some post?
I don't see any "upload attachment" box
just "post a reply" box where i type my reply message followed by "topic review"
