Why don do the basic circuit and test first? LED blinking is good enough to proof that basic circuit is working.

Maybe you can try LCD this way. LCD Lesson.

To test your setting, can do LCD Backlight Blinking. :)

really dun know wat problem now :(

maybe you should check your circuit VERY carefully. sometimes when we can make a mistake in prototyping, we tend to foresee the mistake laying there coz we always assume the circuit is correct until we ignore the mistake even though we already saw it. Whatever, at least it happens to me :roll:

hi,

u bias ur contrast, pin 3 of the LCD with preset? how much the value? it shud be a voltage divider where the middle pin of preset connected to the pin 3 of the LCD. the other 2 pins are connected to VDD and gnd respectively. in proper bias of the contrast pin will cause LCD showing black boxes oso.
