PIC Connection Circuit To Serial Port

i want to create a simple on/off controller from PC to motor using serial port, and i want to develop the controller software using VB6. the main problem is, i don't know how to create the hardware for the connection. can anyone help me with this problem?

it is the same with the bootloader circuit.....

as for the software.... try using VB2008 (ahem2 version) easier....

Have a look at UC00A USB to UART Converter. You can program your PIC to communicate with computer via UART. Computer 'sees' UC00A as a virtual serial port.
