SN-FPR-UART Fingerprint Reader and LABVIEW Communication

Postby PICTRAIL » Tue Sep 06, 2011 12:08 pm

Hi,
Kindly help on the communication between Labview (Using serial communication tool) and Cytron Fingerprint reader
SN-FPR-UART http://cytron.com.my/viewProduct.php?pid=KgkRJQ8jIS4ENwgkGDMvCP1PEpMu3VrBCnRh5S4FozE=.
I connected the fingerprint reader to USB via UART to USB converter. Likewise i am using Labview serial communication tool to access the USB port.
I would like to know which code to send from Labview to SN-FPR-UART for:

i. New Fingerprint Registration.
ii. 1:1 Verification
iii. 1:N Verification

I already checked the datasheet for the code but still not working.

Thanks for your anticipated support.

Regards,
Ebby.

I've never use this sensor but it would be nice if you can track the data sent out from your Labview serial communication tool. What are the bytes sent out from the serial port? Are they correct?

Hi,

Check whether the Labview UART is sending the data out through the UART. You might need to install your USB to UART converter through NI VISA so that, the labview recognize the device. Else, you will see nothing at the UART.
