128x64 GLCD foil cable...

Postby takao21203 » Wed Mar 21, 2012 6:34 am

I have used GLCD before one time, but one day I stepped on the PCB- the glass broke.
And I had another prototype with smaller COG I wanted to remove it but they really easily break.

Anyway. I have around various 128x64 GLCD, some small 1.8" color LCD and 2x 320x200 color LCD.

The display you see in the photo only has 34 pins foil cable, and needs external capacitors.
The documentation on the eBay page really is a mess:

My progress so far is mounting it on a TQFP144 adapter, and securing it with tape very straight (wrapping the tape with tension so the connector gets pushed on the PCB). I have secured it using nail/screw replacement silicone (that is not ordinary silicone). It seems to have good surface grip, the display is hold in place very strongly.

I wrote one time to the eBay vendor he does not have a PDF only what's on the product web page. Well it's really hard for me to work with that.

I don't mind this eBay seller I bought other items from this seller, and all high quality, very happy with these parts :D .
If you know this LCD maybe and have the datasheet as PDF? It really has 34 pins and I know the controller, but not the exact eletrical information.

If there is not the PDF datasheet, it does not matter too much, I recently mounted the 1.8" TFT together with PIC18f24j10, and will put priority on this project. Also have a larger 128x64 LCD with 2.54mm pinout.

Have only used monochrome 128x64 GLCD before. Haven't try with any color GLCD yet. I have downloaded the ST565S datasheet and looks like it is not that easy to play and make it work without blowing half my brain away. If you have any luck with it hope you dont mind to share with us.

Cheers 8-)
