HIDBootLoader load hex file but ntg changed??

u means the user manual pg 41 right? ya i know that~ The .c file and rm18f4550.lkr file is added, but it still build failed...

and i tried ur method, i jz run the [SK40C sample code (bootloader).mcp] and rebuild it without editing, still failed = =

In your MPLAB IDE, click this tab "Project>>Build Options>>Project then click "MPLINK Linker" tab. Print screen and post it here for me. Thanks.

You try tick "Use Alternate Settings" and press ok.

If still cant, replace the string to "/p18f4550" under "Use Alternate Settings" and click ok.

oh~seem better now...But when it is building, it got a "failed to load" message pop-up...but output message tell me that build succeeded and I still can load n test the program on my PIC, its works properly...what does it mean ah...

If you add your own linker file, you should do this but I didn't face this problem before. I found it from Microchip forum, "Ok, IDE will not supply the /p option if you have added a .lkr to the project. You should add the /p option to alternate setting string." So, did you add the string "/p18f4550"?

oic~~so if i add linker file to my project then i must put /p option depend on what PIC i used? yaya i do tick and replace the strings, then only can build it successful...If only tick and without replace the strings it still can't build....
Anyway, a "failed to load" msg pop-up during the file compiling ...i dunno what is it mean, is it important?

As long as can successfully built and can load your hex file via bootloader, is ok.
