Congrats on the working project. It is an accomplishment.

By the way, read up on some more microcontroller stuff. Learn to build some microcontroller-based circuits! Or, for the fun, why not try modifying the electronic dice circuit? :)
PIC - UIC00B from Cytron (replacement for my broken PICKit 2), Pickit 3, MikroC for PIC
dsPIC - MikroC for dsPIC, mikromedia board (dsPIC33)
AVR - AVR Dragon
Parallax - Prop tool

yonghui WROTE:hi,

try more projects.
shud try to get into the coding/C programming. it will be more fun and more satisfaction rather than burning HEX file only.

regards,
yh

without any assistance it so hard to study the programming alone just depend on paper book...

how much the minumun voltage or current needed by PIC16F84A and 7-segment?
9V battery look so big.. Button type battery could generate it? i want try to make all thing as smallest as posible... :geek:

If I'm not mistaken, +5V is the maximum possible. The 7-segment sucks a lot of current and could wear out the battery really fast - so u might need to stick to using the 9V battery, or a 3x1.5V AA/AAA batteries.

Yes, you can ask as many questions as you want here as long as you have the patience and determinations and dont quit half way without completing your project.

While helping you we learned something new from the discussions too. At least I now know that ICD2 has all the unused pins grounded on the ZIF socket. It was also lots of fun figuring out ways to help you and scratching our heads thinking what have we missed. :?:

Go ahead and find a tougher project but make sure that all the components are available locally so you can complete your project smoothly. 8-)
