HELP on servo motor

do i nid to buy an ic L293d to control my 180degree servo motor or straight connect the signal pin to the PIC16F877A port?
i am doing a project like car park system, the motor is to control the gate open 90degree then go back to 0degree.

Servo Motor actually don't need L293 driver. That is only for DC Motor. You see this servo lesson.

then how to control the direction and the speed of servo motor..?
By the way does 16f877a got pwm??

Try the existing code first. After you know how to move the servo, then you will know how to control the speed.
I can't explain it with English Language, but I can explain with C Language. :lol:
