Difference of PIC 16F and 18F

Postby TeoYX » Fri Aug 12, 2011 10:52 pm

Hi,

What is the difference of the 40 pins PIC 16F and 18F? I would like to use 1 PIC for the applications, such as LCD, temperature sensor, RFID door security, clock and light intensity control. Which one is more suitable by using 1 PIC only?

Please advice. Thanks a lot.

The PIC18F holds more memory than the PIC16F counterparts, and the PIC18F is more C-optimized. Both of them are suitable for these control applications.
PIC - UIC00B from Cytron (replacement for my broken PICKit 2), Pickit 3, MikroC for PIC
dsPIC - MikroC for dsPIC, mikromedia board (dsPIC33)
AVR - AVR Dragon
Parallax - Prop tool
