Just giving you a small nudge, with the pseudocode:

CODE: SELECT_ALL_CODE
IF current time equals to alarm time
   Turn On Buzzer.

I assume that you can easily turn the buzzer on or off. It's pretty simple. (And please, with a transistor as well)
PIC - UIC00B from Cytron (replacement for my broken PICKit 2), Pickit 3, MikroC for PIC
dsPIC - MikroC for dsPIC, mikromedia board (dsPIC33)
AVR - AVR Dragon
Parallax - Prop tool

If you connect everything according to PR12's circuit, it should work. What's the problem that you are facing?

Because after I connected all the components according to the schematic of PR12, my LCD just show nothing instead of showing a clock such as 00:00:00 am/pm. What's that problem? And the sample source code for PR12 sure can function well with PIC16F877A? Thanks guys!

Hope can get reply soon. Thanks.

Basically, the cap is just for de-bouncing purpose, try googling it. You should be able to get some idea. It is to filter the signal of switch. It is just good practice to apply it. Some case, it is not required.
