What's the problem? Please describe in detail so that we can help you.

You may need to install the latest MPLAB IDE for PICkit3. If the device is disconnected, restart MPLAB IDE and re-plug PICkit3 will solve the problem.

Hm...It's a well-known issue that PICkit 3 standalone software has a lot of bugs. You can read the complaints in Microchip's forum. There's no new update for it and the team doesn't seem to support this software anymore. So please try again using MPLAB and let us know the result k?

As far as I know - there are no later updates on the Pickit 3 software. The software is known to be extremely unreliable and often crash as it likes.

You can use the MPLAB IDE to use with the Pickit 3, or use the PK3CMD inside the installed MPLAB IDE.

Half of another PIC32s will need a PICKit 3, unfortunately.
