Hi Take21203,
the /DEBUG is the background debugger enable bit ?? i didn't set this configuration. i only set OSC = XT and PBADEN = OFF.. Did i miss out alot of other important configurations? can i ask what does the /DEBUG for ? Thanks!!!

Robosang,

Hmmm.. Okay, if i didnt get ober's meaning wrongly, the wiring should go like the attached picture ?
MCLR pin at PIC connect to 10K resistor, also to MCLR of PICKit3 programmer pin, and the other end of 10K resistor connect to 5V.

MCLR pull up

the MCLR shud be pull up to 5V of the circuit. not to the Pickit Vdd.
thanks&regards,
yh

Some PICs have it set to ON by default. So it must be set to OFF in the configuration.
