K type thermocouple with MAX6675 driver

Postby wjwong » Mon Sep 03, 2012 1:39 pm

I am undergoing a plastic heating project. I am using a ceramic heating element togther with the k type thermocouple. i am connecting the thermocouple with a MAX6675 driver, then connect to PIC16F877A. Pin out of the MAX6675: SO, SCK, CS, T+,T- and vss, gnd. I am confuse on the connection of SO, SCK and CS.

i try connect SO into RC0 as input, then SCK into PIC OSC and CS connected intoRC1. I really dont understand what really stated SO,SCK and CS in the datasheet.

Hope for more understand explaination for the pin out.

You can refer to tutorial http://tutorial.cytron.com.my/2012/08/06/communicate-in-between-bbfuino-and-sk28a-by-using-rf-trx-2-4g/. It is not an exact sample for max6675. But the tutorial is also using SPI interface.
