I recently ordered those from Element14 alongside with other stuff, and these microcontrollers contain a 12-bit ADC with sign format (+/- numbers obtained) and a full 8-bit DAC.
Unfortunately, I bought the wrong package which is in the SOIC form instead of the DIP, but I managed to solder them down using the Cytron breakout boards.
I'm still wondering why they have an 8-bit DAC inside. The purpose of these low end microcontrollers with a DAC are for power regulations, but being exposed to music education for a long time, the DAC has another use inside...
