PIC16F1782/3

Postby Brian Griffin » Thu Sep 06, 2012 1:10 pm

I recently ordered those from Element14 alongside with other stuff, and these microcontrollers contain a 12-bit ADC with sign format (+/- numbers obtained) and a full 8-bit DAC.

Unfortunately, I bought the wrong package which is in the SOIC form instead of the DIP, but I managed to solder them down using the Cytron breakout boards.

I'm still wondering why they have an 8-bit DAC inside. The purpose of these low end microcontrollers with a DAC are for power regulations, but being exposed to music education for a long time, the DAC has another use inside... 8-)
PIC - UIC00B from Cytron (replacement for my broken PICKit 2), Pickit 3, MikroC for PIC
dsPIC - MikroC for dsPIC, mikromedia board (dsPIC33)
AVR - AVR Dragon
Parallax - Prop tool
