PIC18F4550 - Stepper motor controlled by potential meter

Postby nicgoh » Tue Jan 15, 2013 2:03 pm

Good day to all respected members in the forum,

I am totally new to this forum and i need help from u guys..

My project that need to to control the stepper motor using potential meter...

Potential meter as the input and output will be the degrees of rotation for the stepper motor...

I am a mechanical student and i am very weak in C programming...

i has got some very fundamental knowledge in C language..

can anyone here please teach me how to control it using PIC18F4550?

can anyone share me the source code of it so that i can refer to? thanks a lot :)

You need to learn how to use ADC. Then, stepper motor works with pulse, so it's simple to make a pulse, just high and low.

i have gone through some tutorial about using ADC from the Cytron website...

cause i am too new in this field.. and none of my lecturers from mechanical know how to do it..

sigh.. do u have some source code for stepper motor and ADC? so that at least i can refer to it and try to make it..

I don't have free source code. You search on cytron tutorial, read from datasheet and also use google.

Try to go through this project, NOTE: the potentiometer is used for setting speed.
DIY project PR7

Read and start your work. If you are a beginner, just simply use the same PIC of PR7.
