lcd view only black box in second row

if i connect the pic direct to the lcd...which part of code that i need to adjust?? which pic pin needed to connect to the lcd...i'm only beginner in this..

This is normal people do, connect LCD pin direct to the PIC pin. You can refer here LCD or search in the google, many have done because this is common.

You can use any C programming language that you familiar with. Are you using PIC? If so, you can HI-TECH, this is used by Cytron, most of their example code using HITECH Compiler. You can refer to their SK40C page, they have quite a lot of sample code at the bottom of page. You should try the PIC16F Sample Source Code.

I have C code for 4bit mode on my web, with serial register.

The second row has a displacement for the address. The module may become thrown off if you write in other areas.
