Maker/Hobbyist Community in Malaysia

Postby Sytan » Sat Oct 19, 2013 11:20 pm

Hello everyone,

Just wish to discuss some issues about our R&D culture in Malaysia.

How large is the DIY maker/ hobbyist community in Malaysia?

I think most of us are aware about most of the engineers or engineering students in Malaysia are not doing "side" project for their own interest. Most of them work for project instead of creating project to do for self-learning. On the other hand, we also don't have a good R&D culture in industrial sector, we buy rather than build it by ourselves. We don't mind using product from other countries and we don't even think to make for ourselves. Hobbyist forum will never be crowded if the trend continue..

What say you?
