Suggestion and recommendation

Hi everyone, i'm quite new to arduino.. getting start with one of my project almost like ctcab, i might need your advice as i'm not sure which is suitable to choose. I might need an IMU to support my balancing while i will need 2.4G transceiver as well to communicate with other device such as PIC or another arduino. Now the problem is :
i) Which main board should i pick? Arduino Mega 2560 R3, or arduino Leonardo?
ii) Can i interface output of arduino direct to L293d motor driver to interface with my dc motor?
iii) Is the transceiver connection port to any arduino same with BBfuino shown in tutorial?
