Cannot read usb arduino

hye.... i have a problem about my arduino usb port... why after i plug in usb cable for arduino, the usb cable cannot be register?

i have search at internet, and i follow the step but the usb cannot install successfully. i have download FTDI to com port. but not the solution. help please..

Which Arduino board you are using? Uno is not using FTDI anymore.

Are following the right instruction to install the driver? Doesn't seem to be right because UNO is not using FTDI anymore.

robosang is right, Uno is using another microcontroller as the USB to UART converter, please refer to :Getting Started with Arduino UNO for the detailed steps.

i want to follow the instruction, but the hardware wizard like i attach not appear... how i need to install.

In that case, you might be using Win 7, try to follow the steps from Arduino: http://arduino.cc/en/Guide/windows

i follow half of the instruction but next instruction is
"Look under Ports (COM & LPT). You should see an open port named "Arduino UNO (COMxx)"

in my device manager not have port name arduino uno (com..)

how i need to do?

I think you better share the print screen of your Device manager.

It should have detect something when the Arduino UNO is plug into your computer using USB, even without correct driver.

Would be good too if you share photo of the Arduino connected to computer with USB cable.

this is my device manager.. i plug in the usb for arduino but nothing happen (not have popup to install)
