Hi,

I try to build project using Arduino Uno and 2amp Drive Shield (L298P) to control minebea stepper motor.

I want to control speed and direction of stepper motor.

Can someone tell me how to connect the stepper motor to the shield and reference to let me study. I am a nubies in arduino. TQ

Hi fadhil,

First of all you need to understand how stepper motor works. Maybe you can read to this tutorial:
How does Stepper Motor Works – Part 1
How does Stepper Motor Works – Part 2

For connection, you can refer to "Finding the proper wiring sequence" on How does Stepper Motor Works – Part 2.

TQ idris for your response.

the stepper i used is unipolar MO-STEP-17PM-J3X (http://www.cytron.com.my/usr_attachment ... ection.pdf). How can i connect the stepper motor that has 6 wire to Arduino 2Amp Motor Driver Shield that only has 4 output (MOTOR1 and MOTOR2) (http://www.cytron.com.my/viewProduct.ph ... r%20Shield).

Your stepper motor should be unipolar type. You will need to find out the 2 common wires out of the 6 wires. Then connect the other 4 wires to 2Amp Motor shield. Leave the 2 common wires disconnected. This way, you are using your unipolar motor like a bipolar motor. The method is described in the tutorial part 1 mentioned by Idris. Look at the Unipolar section.
