Wireless Charger

Hello.. I'm doing a project which is wireless charging circuit using inductive coupling. it divided into Master n Slave part, i am responsible for the Master Part while my partner doing the Slave part. We are using 22 AWG magnet wire. I have a few questions. Anyone here has experience in this?

What are you trying to charge, a handphone?
What is the max distance between the Master and Slave charger?
How much loss is allowed in your design?
What are you using to power the Master?

The efficiency would be lower than using solar cells I imagine.
Reminds me of the No Battery "Shake Shake Shake " torch light from China.

yes im trying to charge a handphone.
the max distance is 20cm.
i am gonna use the power supply in my lab to power up.

it is actually similar to this project. http://www.instructables.com/id/Low-Pow ... -Charging/
but this, the author is to power up a LED. however, I have difficulties in constructing it. are you interested in this as well? :)

Copper that thick is not cheap. The biggest I used was gauge SWG28. Well you might do it for fun if you have nothing better to do. For me, I think a MCU project to control something is more interesting. 8-)

Just go ahead and follow the instructions in the INSTRUCTIBLES. I think it should work but dont expect too much from it. You need 10 times of time to fully charge up your handphone and I see no regulator on the slave side. An led would need about 10mA to light up, so I think the current wouldnt be very much.

Do share it here if your project works successfully and dont forget to take a few photos and paste it here. :mrgreen:
