hi im trying to figure out what digital pin is the jack using, or is there a function that can be used so that
if i were to upload toneMelody (from the examples) it will play from the speaker instead of digital pin 8 (interestingly DP8 is not written in as output pin...)
anyway for now what i have done is i have hot wire DP8 to the tip of the jack, so it will play from the speaker.

Not really understand which Jack you are referring to... Can you explain with example of product or picture?

I'm assuming you are talking about Maker Uno. Piezo buzzer inside Maker Uno is connected to pin 8 through slide switch beside it.
