Hi! I need help. I am 15 years old. I am going to represent my school in a mini solar car and mini solar boat competition. I have no problem in building a solar car as I have already built one and won 2nd place in a competition. On the other hand, I have never build a solar boat and don't know how to build one. Can any of you help me??? Maybe create a video on building a solar boat pls.....

May be you can try to use polystrene and cut the shape of a boat out. Basically it will float on water no matter it's in any shape. The propeller also need to be hand-made? If not, just get one from any boat toy.

Ya.... that is quite challenging :D

Maybe can try using aluminium cover on Milo, there should be a round aluminium on top of Milo container. I use that as wind turbine when i was kid  With some glue or maybe fastener, you should be able to mount it to motor.

Good luck, do show us the result.... nice or bad is OK, important is you learn something.

hi,

i used to build this way.
alumnium can from coke. cut into shape. careful punch a hole for the shaft. use suitable size cylinder rod hit hard on the aluminium piece placed on wood will create a good shape round shape hole.

then get lollipop plastic rod/stick which has hole in the middle. pass through the hole on the alumminium. use a lighter to melt the plastic to the aluminium. apply some superglue if needed after that. need lollipop plastic rod with hole because the motor shaft can go through the the lolllipop rod and is mounted that way to the motor. see picture below for clearer understand of my idea. if the aluminium is too soft, can try use can of canned food, but tat is really hard. need careful when cutting with scissors.

The "Img" doesn't accept pictures in BMP format. You'll have to convert them to JPG first then attached them as files.
