what is the suitable dc motor that can lead this linear guide? it is servo, dc gear motor or else? the weight of linear guide is around 2kg. the motion of the linear guide is to move right and left and can stop at whatever desired place based on program. controller used is arduino. can u help me about the selection of motor for this thing that easy to used and program?

sorry in mm or cm?
You need to know the torque it will be required.
If the speed is not a concern, just get the most highest torque to be safe.
If you need an accurate positioning, you can get the DC motor with encoder feedback.

There are plenty of motor you can use.

i already got the motor. now i am studying how to connect a motor with encoder and arduino program..do u have any idea how its work? can u share any link that can help me
