MD30C power supply - regenerative energy

I ordered a MD30C to use with a 12V 30A gear motor. I do not want to use a battery to power the motor, I would rather use a MegaWatt 36 Amp 12 Volt 13.8V DC Regulated Power Supply.

Can anyone help me design a simple switched resistor or capacitor bank to use inline with the driver pwr input to absorbs the regenerative energy of the motor when it's turned off? The motor will control a 30 ft long rollup curtain for a greenhouse, max of 40 RPM. I really don't think I'll have that much regen, but I have no idea how to quantify it.

Any ideas would help, I really don't want to spend $120 on a 12v battery simply for regen purposes...

thanks!

I'm looking into a similar situation using a MDD10A and a DC/DC converter (I6A4W020A033V-001-R) so if I find anything/come up with a solution I'll make sure to let you know.

Good luck (if you're still working on this) :D
