Serial Packetized Wiring? MDDS30

Postby solo_level » Wed Sep 02, 2020 5:36 pm

Hello,

I was wondering how to wire multiple devices when it comes to Serial Packetized mode. I bought 2 of the MDDS30 Controllers for a vehicle project and need to control 4 motors. The Jetson Tx2 only has one UART Tx/Rx on the GPIO expansion ports so I am trying to using Serial Packetized mode. I am not sure how to wire the 2nd MDDS30 since based on the manual IN1 pin is only to be used and the rest of the pins are off and it states that up to 8 devices can be connected since we can set those device IDs manually using SW4-6.

You just need to connect the signal cable in parallel to both motor drivers. Please make sure that the ID / Address for each of them is unique.
