Hi, can you roughly explain what have you did? and is good if you can capture a photo of the setup.

1. Use which PIC?
2. Have you load the USB bootloader firmware to PIC?
3. The USB Vcap jumper?
4. So on and so forth

First of all, i have try all the steps given in the manual but it seems that the sk40c cannot be detected after bootloader firmware is programmed. then i try the led blinking program. it works fine with the pic as mentioned.

OK, let me go to the 3rd, USB V cap is referring to the SEL and USB. OK, good!

Now, go back to 2nd step. As explained in User's Manual, there are 2 methods to enter boot mode. The 1st method which is what you are using is for the SK40C board that being powered by USB. I recommend you use 2nd method, which you power your board with adapter, connect the USB mini to SK40C and the other end to computer USB. Then press and hold SW2, Reset the PIC by pressing RESET button and release it, and now release SW2. This should instruct the PIC to enter bootloader mode and HID class for USB.

just to make sure again, your are using 20MHz Crystal right?

That's a bit weird. I did play with that setup before and everything work perfectly. Anyway Now I am using UIC00B to load program instead of using the USB bootloader, lazy to press the bootloader button, and sometime you forgot to press the SW2 :D

MIght be the PIC? Maybe the connection of USB cable?
