16f628 ICSP PROGRAMMING

Postby ganesah » Tue Apr 12, 2011 8:07 pm

Hi,

Please advise whether 16f628 can be programmed using UIC00B programmer. As i am aware 16f628A can be programmed using UIC00B but not sure for 16f628. However when connected to device board, I can see the PIC KIT 2 programmer can detect this PIC and can program it which it displays 'Programming Successfull', but cant see the output(LED blinking), have checked the supply, all ok.

Please advise.

Thanks

UIC00B should be no problem to program 16F628. Is the circuit confirm to be work?

16F628 is an older version of 16F628A. So the PICKit2 and its clones can program this one.
PIC - UIC00B from Cytron (replacement for my broken PICKit 2), Pickit 3, MikroC for PIC
dsPIC - MikroC for dsPIC, mikromedia board (dsPIC33)
AVR - AVR Dragon
Parallax - Prop tool

Check the crystal, check the oscillator, or check the TRIS registers. It may be causing these not to work. Also, check whether the LED output is shared/multiplexed with the Analog Comparators. If so, shut them off before programming.
