How to use PICKIT2 with UIC-S

Postby engkiang » Wed Aug 17, 2011 2:36 pm

Dear Sir/Madam,
I'm a entry level in PIC hardware and software. I have PICKIT2 and want to use the UIC-S to program the PIC microcontroller. I had searched several product in cytron and another adaptor was found is UIC-A.
How to link the PICKIT2 with UIC-A in order it can program the PIC microcontroller using UIC-S. Any graphical diagram or schematic to show the connection?
Thanks. :)

Yes, you can connect PICKIT2 with UIC-S via UIC-A. You can refer to the 2nd photo in UIC-A UM page 4 for the connection. You just replace the SK40C with UIC-S. However, you need the rainbow cable for the connection from UIC-A to UIC-S. The rainbow cable is not included in the UIC-A package.

Hi hyng,
Thanks for the respond. How many devices that I able to program if using this configuration. Do you have the list of supported devices?
Thanks.

What devices that you mean? You mean PIC micrcontroller? It depends on the PICkit2.
UIC-A is just a adapter. BTW If you wonder where to get the rainbow cable.. this is the link

Hi hyng,
What I mean is PIC microcontroller family that supported with this kind of configuration. This type of configuration can support PIC range like 10F, 12F, 16F, 18F etc.
Thanks.
