PIC with Power Adapter Supply Not Working

Postby mohdismiaswaly » Mon Aug 24, 2015 9:22 am

Hello,

Please look at the photo, I want to use AC/DC power adapter, I program simple RB7 led blinking. Tested by using lab power supply and set to 12V, current at 160mA, the board has 5V regulator circuit to supply the PIC, and the LED is blinking.

But then I use the AC/DC power adapter direct connect to PIC board, the LED is just light up continuously, not blinking.

The sticker on adapter stated 12V @ 800mA.

Then I change, put resistor in series 5W 91Ohm to reduce the voltage and current. Still the same, LED just light up continuously, not blinking.

Is it something to do with input current to PIC too high?

Thanks

Hi mohdismiaswaly,

Based on your question, would you mind if I ask you to share your programming and schematic diagram for this simple RB7 LED blinking? I would like to help you, but I have to go through your programming and your schematic diagram.

Thanks. :)

Hi,

May I know why you did not put a resistor to your led?
Could you show me, where did you put your resistor 5W 91Ohm?

For your information, the circuit will be affected without a resistor.

Thank You, :)

Hi,

May I know why you did not put a pull up resistor to MCLR pin?
Could you show me, where did you put your resistor?

For your information, the circuit will be affected without a resistor.

Thank You, :)
