Hi,

Actually you can do some settings in IPE so that PicKit3 can detect target voltage VDD without connecting VDD pin to 3V3 using jumper.

First, go to Settings->Advanced mode.

Log on after you have entered the password. Default password is 'microchip' as stated there.

Click Power tab on left side of the window and check Power Target Circuit from Tool. Make sure VDD is set to 3.3V as well.

Logout after you have completed the settings.

Now you should be able to upload hex file without connecting VDD pin to 3V3 using jumper. Hope it helps. Thanks.

The VDD pin is purposely being disconnected, not a defect. Our concern is user do not know it is 3.3V system and put wrong setting in programmer and push out 5V instead of 3.3V, this will further damage the PIC and other component on board as they are 3.3V power. 5V is good enough to kill those devices.

Yes, please do as what Nurul advise.

Hi, Did you already make sure that the PIC is in bootloader mode when you upload the program using pinguino?

Is there any sound indication from Windows when the SK1632 enter bootloader mode? Normally Windows will indicate detach and attach of USB device. Since the LED is blinking, the bootloader is running on SK1632.

BTW, what is the indicator Pinguino refuses to connect? Can you printscreen the status message after you upload the compiled code?

There is no driver for HID bootloader as you said.

De-bouncing is for filter out the ripples, but solid press and it will not affect the detection of good press.

From the SK1632 we have and the bootloader firmware, we do not need to press SW1 twice before releasing the reset button.

Maybe you need to push the button vertically to get a good solid press?
