Hi, i bought one of the dc motor from cytron.
The rated voltage for the dc motor is 12v.
I did the experiment, as long as i supply enough current to the motor, the motor run although the supply voltage is below 12v. why ?
So, can i just use the 9V battery supply to operate it for long hours?
My friend suggest me to supply the rated voltage anyway since it is rated.

So can i have you guy suggestion and the reason ?

Hi, rated voltage means the voltage that motor should be applied for optimum power and long operating hour. It can still operate with 9V, even 6V.

But using normal 9V battery, it cannot last long because the current that can be supplied from normal 9V is not much.

So if i don't need the motor to drive maximum speed or torque, can i use 9v ?
and in this way, is it less current needed to supply to the motor?
sorry i have lot doubt.

As I said, you can try, it will not harm your motor supplying lower current and voltage than the rated value.

As I have highlighted also, normal 9V battery have very low capacity, it will be drained by motor very fast. Still you can try it.
