Postby JIN » Fri Mar 23, 2012 9:56 pm

MY OBJECT WEIGHT IS ALMOST 7-10KG....
CAN ANYONE PLEASE RECOMMEND ME WHICH GEARED DC MOTOR SHOULD I CHOOSE?
I HAVE TO USE THE MOTOR TO MOVE MY CAR BACK RIGHT AND LEFT WHEEL WITH THE LOAD 7-10KG....
I NEED TO MOVE MY CAR WITH A QUITE GOOD SPEED....
SORRY I AM NEW ABOUT THE MOTOR...
I WISH SOMEONE CAN HELP ME...
THANKS A LOT....

MY FRIEND USING 24V DC MOTOR/1200RPM WITH RATIO 1:5 GEARBOX FOR THE LOAD ALMOST 12-15KG....
THE MOTOR SIZE LOOK BIG AND LONG..... THE IS ALMOST DIAMETER 7CM AND THE LENGTH 25CM....
I WISH TO FIND A SMALLER SIZE MOTOR THAT ENOUGH POWER TO MOVE.....
I PLANING TO FIND 12V DC GEARED MOTOR BECAUSE ITS MORE LIGHT AND SMALLER SIZE....
IS THAT ANY SMALLER SIZE DC GEARED MOTOR THAT ENOUGH POWER CAN MOVE WITH NOT BAD SPEED WITH THE LOAD 7-10KG??

Are not interested in Linear Motor? I think this motor have a powerful torque. It can be operated in 12V or 24V.

Oh ok, sorry I'm misunderstood. I think you can use the SPG50, but you need to design the bracket so that the load weight is not fully force the motor shaft.

Are you design the mobile robot? Then, what type of the tyre at the front? Using castor?

idris i plan to build a rc car for my project actually...
i design the base and all part by ownself...
on my rc car i will build a robot arm on it....
i also not sure what the weight will be on my project...
so i estimated almost 5-7kg like that....
i planing make my base length 25cm and width 15-18cm...
so i planning to use smaller motor because my base is small...
my friend all using 24v dc motor around 1200rpm and with the gearbox they told me ration1:5...
mean 1200/5 it will get around 200++ rpm..
the motor they using is too heavy and long,,,,,
the diameter is 8cm and the length is 28cm after mix with gearbox...
their project weight will be almost 12-14kg...
so my project is just half the weight of them...
so i wish to find a smaller 12v dc motor...
so i dont mind using 2 12v dc motor too for moving my car back right and left wheel.....
is it any 12v dc geared motor u can recommend me so that my car can move smoothly with a not bad speed??
thanks u a lot because trying to help me to solve my problem...

I have experience built a robot using SPG50. I put the motors at the middle, so that the robot easy to turn. Weight around 7 - 8 kg. Maybe you can try SPG50-60 or SPG50-100. Need experiment and testing.

The difference is between the speed and torque. Higher speed make lower torque, higher torque create lower speed. Just choose the best and suite our project application.
