Conveyor belt with stepper motor

Hi,
I have some questions regarding my project to build a conveyor belt. I have searched through cytron website, found Minebea Stepping Motor to be suitable of use for my project. I was wondering what motor driver anyone can recommend (the cheapest it can be) ? Do i need to buy a arduino uno just to start, stop, control the speed of the motor or they can be done on motor driver?

In addition to that,I know the conveyor belt cannot be directly put on the motor, i know there is a medium to support the belt which is attached to the motor, would be glad if anyone here can tell me what it is called?
