Hi all,
I already purchase this dc scooter motor. I used this motor run the electric car with the weight 140kg (+ driver) using SmartDrive40 for the drive system. For the source I use 24vdc 50a lithium ion battery. So the average speed is around 30 km/h. After the car running until 6km, the motor become very hot and also the drive system (SmartDrive40) cannot function as usual(hang). My question is why this happen?

Can you give your opinion and also how to solve this thing?

Thanks.

Yup, start from 0 km until 6 km. Actually this car need to complete the race about 12 km non-stop using the less power (must use lithium ion battery). Do you have any suggestion or idea to shared?

You should really check what is the cause as suggested by yonghui, maybe the battery drain out? Can the motor still work with direct connection from battery? Can the driver works after some time?

Ok. If I direct connect from battery to the motor it cannot work because the battery current is to high (50A full). If use driver, starting is okay until the car achieve to 6km the driver start hang. I mean if I variable the input, the output not work like usual (the output increase proportional to input- +ve voltage). The output become sometime +ve volt, sometime -ve voltage, so the motor effect become forward-reverse-forward-reverse).

obviously, you do not understand how load and supply works

You can direct connect the battery to motor even if the battery can supply 50A, and the load is small motor, with the condition voltage is correct.

Can a LED with resistor connect to car battery with 12A and may provide current of 100A? You try and see.
