MD30C dcmotor driver

Postby naz » Sun Mar 02, 2014 7:41 pm

hi, i want to ask some question regarding this driver.
i connect this driver to LiPo cell. there is no connection to dc motor and microcontroller is off.
obviously this driver will be in 'on' state but after i leave it around 1 hour, the LiPo battery swollen.
does this driver causing these swollen LiPo or the battery is faulty or maybe my fault?(i double check to make sure there is no short circuit)
and i try it with 9V battery with no dc motor connected and it's slightly warm. is it normal?
and one more question, the battery drop 0.01V less than 10 sec. is it normal? because there is no dc motor connected.

Hi, for your information, the MD30C will consume about 100mA even if the motor is not running. This is normal and the current is used by the electronic circuit on the motor driver. Can you please try to connect the MD30C to a power supply and see how many amps it uses? If it's around 0.1A, then this is absolutely normal.
With the power of dream, nothing is impossible...
