Heat a borad

Hi,

I am using to drive 24V 3A DC motor by MD10C. The board gets heat just by connecting the power supply. Temperature is about 60~70 degrees. More more heat when motor is moving. Is this normal? Not burning now but I worry to burn the board. Do I need to cool the board? Everyone use cooling fan?
I know the stress test video, it is heat until 117 degrees with no cooler. Is this no problem?

Hi heppoko,

It is not normal the driver heat up without load. Could you share a few clear photos/video on your hardware setup?

I only connected from Power unit to driver. The power supply unit I use is TDK-lambda RWS150B-24.

Turn on the power and listen carefully, I hear the high frequency sound from the driver.
I have several MD10C driver boards. Each board is the same heat. Is there any problem with the power supply unit?

Hi heppoko,

Thanks for the clear photos.

The area that you highlighted is 7812 regulator. The heat (on that area) is normal for 24V operation.

Would you please tell me your thoughts on waste heat for these drivers?
