Understanding MDD10A

Hi.

I just ordered a MDD10A to use with 2 775 DC Motors together with an Ardunio.
I'm going to be using a 14.4 Li-po 7500mah.

I just stumbled upon this.
"Hi, Yes. You can but you need to make sure that you have to connect a battery with same voltage in parallel with the power supply for absorbing the current generated by the motor. Thanks. :)"

So does this mean that i need 2 battery packs? Could someone please explain this?
also
What is the biggest difference between MDD10A and SHIELD-MDD10?
How is the EMF protection on these boards? Thinking for noise from the motor etc.

If you are using a switching power supply. If you are using battery then it is fine.

Thanks a lot for the quick answer!
Do you know if there is builtin protection against noise from the motors?
Also do you know the difference between MDD10A and SHIELD-MDD10?

If you are talking about Regenerative power from the motor, then yes. That is the reason why a battery is needed if it is powered by a switching power supply.

MDD10A and Shield-MDD10 are similar. Of course, the shield is designed to be stackable on Arduino mainboard. The rest are similar but check the Vmotor range, MDD10A has lower Vmotor.
