LDO 3.3v regulator

Postby bryanncy1999 » Tue Jul 16, 2013 10:04 am

I want to get 3.3v from a 3.7 li on battery..... I tried using the 1117 LDO regulator but it regulate the power to less than 3.3v. So is there any components on Cytron that I can buy to get 3.7v to 3.3v? Or is there any circuit that can do that job?

According to the LM1117 3.3V Voltage Regulator datasheet (http://www.cytron.com.my/datasheet/VR/PVR/LM1117.pdf), it's optimum input voltage should be between 4.75V and 10V. If your input voltage is lower than that, you may not get the expected output voltage (3.3V here). So maybe you can just use a resistor to drop the voltage of the circuit or try to find another type of voltage regulators that can do the job. Hope this helps ;)

mayb u will need to try switching regulator.
3.7v lithium may be 4.2v on full charge. using resistor is dangerous.
thanks&regards,

Yeah, I need 3.3v to power a MCU that will interface with a MicroSD card.... I tought about swiching circuit.... problem is I don't know how to find a good enough one for it...
